My twin brother is grown up. That's what they call him now. In the last seven days, I have heard five different people say that. Not a big deal - this twin brother is my son! I found myself in a town called College station in Texas for 3 days for freshman (newcomers) conference of the Texas A and M with my son as he moves to the next phase of his life.  Where I came from, we call them Jambites after the name of the exam used to enter colleges. It turned out that it was not only him that had things to learn - I learnt a lot of things I will like to share about my going back to school:

1. TRULY! I AM OLDER NOW!

The reality dawned on me. I am older now – way older. Forget about the Levi denim jeans and sports canvass shoes we are both wearing. That’s where the similarity ends! I am not that 5-10km walking school boy of almost 30 years ago. The last time I ministered at IVCU in Ibadan and in most singles meetings these days and I see the way they call me Daddy, I finally give up on trying to be a young man forever. Two of our friend’s children were in that IVCU meeting! Whether I like it or not the conveyor belt is moving. Soon we will be talking about marriages. Psalm 90:12- Teach us how short our life is, so that we may become wise.

Mat 8:14-15 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Peter mother in law was helpless. She was incapacitated. She could not fulfill her ministry. Her dream and aspiration lay dead on her sick bed. She could not minister to anyone. Her purpose as the head of the home was in jeopardy – all because of the fever. People who love her were around here but they were also helpless. She was in that state until Jesus showed up. Jesus will show up for you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

It's not a cliche. It's not an advise. Its a prophetic word. I know so - in  the new year, as the Lord lives, it will be alright. I am grateful to the Lord for this message. I can’t wait to hear the testimonies that will come out of it. There is a confidence in God as He pours the message in my heart that everything will be okay. I have had burdens and cares about what the New Year will hold. What does the future holds?  As usual I got the answer from the scripture – Matthew 17:24-27. I am good to go! I believe you too will be ready after reading this.
The tax people came and asked whether Jesus should pay tax or not.  It was confirmed that being citizens, Jesus need not pay. Life might have been placing a lot of unwarranted demands on us and our lives and we are confused about what tomorrow holds. Will this sickness relapse? Will this bad relationship heal? Heaven says – It will be alright. Your son? Your husband? Your bank account – The Lord says it’s going to be alright.

"I like him but he is younger, I cant!"

“how can I marry an older Lady?”

Are you  asking me? How can you marry a younger man? Ask me twenty more times! My answer – how can you not? We make so much fuss about nothing until it’s too late. Be practical and reasonable! Stop burying your head in the sand. At Thirty Seven years of age, the chances of getting a single, never married, non-widowed, non–divorced older man to marry is getting smaller! If you find one, he is likely to have a story behind him and will you be ready to deal with it? Most men older than you will likely even marry women who are way younger! Look around you- statistics confirms so.

WILL I EVER MARRY?

I had started on this burden over twelve months ago but never concluded it. I pray I do this time and get it posted to encourage someone and warn others. I reconnected with someone again last week who was well into her forties and still single. I was so distressed that because if I add five years to her current age, I discovered that at that age my mum was already a Grand mum! I believe it’s not hopeless if we do what we need to do and trust God for the rest.

The statement, “WILL I EVER MARRY? EVANGELIST BEE, WILL I EVER MARRY” was the conclusion of an email that summarized my week. On a more serious note, I will say this has summarized my month. It was sent to me by a lady who had remained single after 40 years on earth. I had a hectic month at work and in ministry in the last four to six weeks. It culminated in a weekend where I saw over 30% of the population of a prayer meeting respond to an altar call for those who have delay in getting married. 

While praying for them, I could see some of them were really advanced in years. I am serious! My suspicions were confirmed when after one of the sessions one of the women came to me and said she could not come out as she was ashamed! Why? She was well into her mid forties and she felt her own issues were in a different class!

I knew from the next day I heard the story that I had to speak. I had to write. I don’t fear death and I don’t preach that people should fear death. I always admonish instead that you should prepare for death. It can come anytime, anywhere and anyhow. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment-Hebrews 9:27.

However, I feel there are ways people should not die. It is called avoidable death. There are death stories that pains to the bones. Not just the case of who died but the hell on earth they went through before they died. Imagine if they were not prepared to meet their maker – that makes it worse.

The seconds went into eternity. When Didier Drogba was about to take the fifth Chelsea Penalty kick in Munich, Germany on Saturday 19th May, 2012 to decided who the winner will be after 120 minutes stalemate, I could not bear to watch again. Finally he did what no one in Hollywood and Nollywood scriptwriters would have written. He scored and Chelsea FC had won the 2012 UEFA Champions League. This was what Chelsea had been looking for in years. This was the main cup they have never won. This victory was very inspirational for me. I was really inspired that I began to see similar events and parallels in the bible. I don’t know if owners and members of staffs of Chelsea are Christians but for those who care about the fact that physical things can be deciphered using spiritual principles I found some immediate scriptural analysis that some have found true or funny (depending on which side of the divide you are) when I posted some of them on my facebook page! Even If you are not a soccer enthusiast, be patient with me as I have something to say.

Mrs. Olayinka Olatimehin Olaiya

It was sometimes around 5pm United States Central time. This was well into the night in the United Kingdom. I received a call from my brother in law, Femi Olaiya on my cell phone in Houston. He wanted to know where I was. That was strange - Very strange Question. Why would Femi want to know where I was? He needed me to be alone. We exchange very short pleasantries and he dropped the bomb – Yinka Olatimehin Olaiya, his wife of about 19 years was dead. She has gone home to rest. She died after a long but tenacious battle against cancer. She fought. She chose not to go without a fight. I have seen that life is not meant for those who cannot fight. Someone said if you cannot fight for something, you are not worth living. A life with a purpose will fight to fulfill it. Paul knew when it was time to go and he declared:

2Ti 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The immediate challenge I had was how to inform my wife – Korede, who had been in full front of the warfare asking God to spare her life and grant her further extension as He had done before. She and her “Sister Yinka” or “ Mrs O.” as she always calls her are very close. Sometimes they spend such a long time talking and praying together on the phone that if she had been a man I would have been jealous. After getting two Pastor friends to come help out
